This Privacy Policy explains how Quraan Link (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use:

• Our website at quraan.link (and related pages such as the Quran reader, questions, and image editor)
• Our mobile application Quraan Link (Android now; iOS later), package ID link.quraan.app

1. Who we are

Quraan Link provides tools to explore Quranic verses, translations, themed questions, and shareable quote images. The mobile app is designed to work largely offline using Quran data shipped with the app.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Website

• Usage analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic (pages visited, approximate region, device type). This may use cookies or similar identifiers.
• Preferences: Language or view preferences may be stored in cookies or local browser storage so the site remembers your choices.
• Optional social features: If you use share buttons (for example Facebook), those services may receive the page URL you share under their own policies.
• Server logs: Our hosting may keep standard web server logs (IP address, user agent, request time) for security and reliability.

2.2 Mobile app (Quraan Link)

• Core Quran content: Verses and translations are stored on your device. Creating quotes does not require an account.
• App preferences: Settings such as theme, language, haptics, and editor defaults are stored locally on your device.
• Photos you choose: If you pick a custom background from your gallery, the image stays on device for editing/export unless you share or save it yourself.
• Exports: Saved or shared images are handled by your device’s share sheet / photo library according to permissions you grant.
• Advertising (when enabled): We use Google AdMob for ads on advanced features. AdMob may collect device advertising identifiers and interaction data as described in Google’s policies. You can limit personalized ads through device settings and, where shown, in-app privacy options.
• No account required: We do not require you to create a Quraan Link user account to use the app’s core features.

3. How we use information

• Operate and improve the website and app
• Understand aggregate usage (analytics)
• Show ads and measure ad performance (mobile app, via AdMob)
• Maintain security and diagnose technical issues
• Comply with legal obligations where applicable

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Advertising

The Quraan Link mobile app may show advertisements for advanced actions (for example saving an image, higher export resolution, custom colors/fonts/backgrounds). Basic reading and editing remain available without watching an ad.

Where required (for example in the EEA/UK), we use Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request consent for personalized ads. Declining personalized ads should not block you from using the app; you may still see non-personalized ads when ads are shown.

5. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)

Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we rely on:

• Consent — analytics cookies / personalized advertising where required
• Legitimate interests — operating the service, security, non-essential product improvement in a privacy-respecting way
• Contract / service delivery — providing the features you request (for example exporting an image you create)

6. Sharing of information

We may share limited data with:

• Google (Analytics on the website; AdMob / advertising services in the app)
• Hosting providers that run quraan.link / api.quraan.link
• Authorities when required by law

Social networks only receive information if you choose to share content through their buttons or apps.

7. Data retention

• On-device app preferences and drafts remain until you clear app data or uninstall
• Analytics and advertising data are retained according to Google’s retention policies
• Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operations

8. Children’s privacy

Quraan Link is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can delete it where applicable.

9. Your choices

• Clear cookies / site data in your browser
• Use device settings to reset or limit the advertising ID
• Use in-app privacy options when shown (mobile)
• Uninstall the app to remove local app data
• Request access or deletion of personal data we hold about you, where applicable law provides that right

10. International transfers

Our servers and service providers (including Google) may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used by those providers under their policies.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the website or app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
